Claremont Police Department provides law enforcement services to the City of Claremont.  With a population of approximately 36,000, Claremont is a college town, home of the elite Claremont Colleges, and located about 30 miles east of downtown Los Angeles.  Claremont is commonly known as “The City of Trees and PhDs” due to its tree-lined streets, and 30% of its residents (over age 24) have a graduate or professional degree.  

The Claremont Police Department is comprised of dedicated individuals working together to ensure the safety of the Claremont community, consisting of 41 sworn police officers, 1 police K-9, 3 sworn reserve police officers, 23 full-time professional staff, 8 part-time employees, and over 30 volunteers.
